Fifth Dawn week: Eyes of the Watcher is deceptively useful in a Talrand-esque deck filled with cantrips and cheap draw since you can use the scry to vastly increase the likelihood the spell draws another cantrip or cheap draw. Rinse and repeat.

Folks, I put these cards up on my wants list on @cardsphere.com TODAY and theyβre already getting picked up for someone to send out. If you havenβt tried out Cardsphere youβre missing out on my favorite way to get hold of cards at a better price than any other marketplace

Fifth Dawn week: Beacon of Creation can generate a lot of tokens in a mono-g deck or frankly any deck with token synergy and Doubling Season-esque multipliers, and you get a free shuffle out of the deal after casting it.

Fifth Dawn week: Five mana to take away your opponent's best artifact from their library and put it directly into play under your control is a really solid rate, especially if your deck also cares about artifacts.

Fifth Dawn week: In a vacuum, land aura enchants aren't nearly as good as just ramping lands in green. However, there can be a ton of synergy with the tech in decks who care about auras or with ways to untap things.

Fifth Dawn week: Cast it for 0, and at any point moving forward you can spend 2 at instant speed to destroy all tokens. That's amazing, and it's still only in about 5,400 decks.

Darksteel week: Echoing Decay costs two mana at instant speed to wipe out a token swarm. That's very solid if you constantly see token decks in your meta. And even if you just use it to kill some random 1/1 or 2/2 that's still not terrible.

Darksteel week: Spawning Pit's text kinda doesn't matter beyond the fact that it's a sacrifice outlet that can be used at instant speed for zero cost. That's it.

Lu Bu, Master-at-Arms from Portal Three Kingdoms, the EDHREC Commander of the Day ranked 2,751 in 113 decks.
Today's EDHREC Commander of the Day is a deep cut; Lu Bu, Master-at-Arms from Portal 3K. Lu Bu is our 2,751st ranked cmdr atop 113 decks, most of which are voltron and equipment themed. Six mana for a hasty, near-unblockable 4/3 is a lot, but you get style points.

Darksteel week: Vedalken Engineer is a really excellent mana dork IF you're playing a heavy artifact deck, or at least a deck with an artifact commander. Two mana to generate two mana every turn moving forward is very solid.

Nicanzil, Current Conductor is the EDHREC Commander of the Day ranked #1,240 atop 1,231 decks.
Nicanzil, Current Conductor is the EDHREC Commander of the Day, just a Simic merfolk doing Simic things. Nicanzil is in 1,231 decks and is the 1,240th ranked commander on EDHREC where it leads mostly merfolk, +1 counter, self-mill and explore decks.

Darksteel week: Sure there's lots of ways to overrun (Overrun?) in green, and most are better than Echoing Courage, but none are as cheap to cast, and few are instants. It really only works in a token deck, but in that kind of deck it might be worth a look.

Darksteel Week: In the right deck Hunger of the Nim can turn any body into a one-shot machine. Sorcery speed is for sure limiting, but 1B to give a creature potentially 10+ extra power is hard to ignore, and it's in just over 300 decks on EDHREC.

Mirrodin week: Leonin Abunas gives your artifacts hexproof, which is a tremendously useful ability in a deck running a ton of artifacts, and maybe more so in an equipment list.

Mirrodin week: Note that Lumengrid Sentinel doesn't say cast. An artifact entering triggers it. Making a bunch of Hangarback tokens? Tap all the stuff. In the right deck it's a house and it's only seeing play in about 1,300 decks.

Mirrodin week: Playing a deck with some kind of +1 counter synergy? Then War Elemental can get out of hand FAST. It's in less than 6k decks, and the RRR casting cost can be a problem, but if you can deal with that it can get out of control.

Mirrodin week: Wail of the Nim is another infrequently-seen card from Mirrodin. It's an instant-speed way to dodge creature removal, maybe for your whole board, and it can also remove a bunch of little guys. Maybe both.

26.11.2025 17:02 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1
Mirrodin week: Playing an enchantress or enchantress-adjacent deck with few or no artifacts? Then you might want to consider making everyone else play few or no artifacts, too. That just seems fair.

Mirrodin week: We've reached our first modern frame set, and with it some cards whose design also feels modern, starting with Fatespinner. Whether you're playing some light stax or just want a value wizard, Fatespinner is very, very good.

Scourge week: There's not a lot of ways to give all your zombies vigilance, but in a deck running things like decayed or with sac outlets Faces of the Past lets you untap all those attackers when a zombie dies.

One with Nature (Card) | EDHREC
Scourge week: Playing an efficient green commander with evasion? Then One with Nature is a REALLY good ramp spell, and in Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief it's downright disgusting.
21.11.2025 18:03 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
Scourge week: Yes this impacts everyone, so be careful when you use it as it can help your enemies too, but cards that let you keep your mana between phases are very powerful in a list built around abusing such effects.

Scourge week: For gameplay purposes on offense Treetop Scout is a flier, and in an elfball-style build or in a list like Edric, Spymaster of Trest a one-drop that has evasion is very useful even in today's meta.

Scourge week: There are fourteen legendary clerics with black and white in their casting cost, two of which can be cast for free with Edgewalker, minus commander tax. It's not an auto-include or anything, but if you're playing any kind of cleric deck it's excellent.
edhrec.com/route/?cc=Ed...

Scourge week: Want to pay 1 less for your soldiers? Want to buff them? Why not both, and why not both on a soldier? Daru Warchief has crept up to $2 due to never having a reprint, and because it remains an excellent include in any soldier list to this day.
