The Sanganakallu Museum of Archaeology main hall.

A Neolithic (Megalithic) ceramic coffin that stands on six legs and was surrounded by other pots inside the dolmen tomb.

Looking down from the top floor into the reconstructed landscape of the Sanganakallu mountain range. This tableau covers the centre of the main museum hall and highlights the many features of the inselberg and surrounding landscape.

If you are in South #India I recommend visiting the Sanganakallu Museum of #Archaeology in Ballari. One of the best museums of regional archaeology I've seen as it places the local material in the global context and has stunning displays. Staff are super friendly! #archaeology🏺

Went rock climbing! Up Sanganakallu to see the #Neolithic rock drawings in Ballari, #India. There are over 3000 of them across the inselberg, as well as a quarry & habitation at the top and an ashmound at the foot. Awesome #archaeology🏺
