Today is 10 years since I left my old office job to have a go at a radio career, having been offered just 6 freelance shifts initially. Turns out it was the best decision I’ve ever made and now I’ve got my literal dream job that I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid. I feel very lucky.

Based on what I’ve seen on the telly, the Scissor Sisters have put on the best show at Glastonbury this year by an absolute mile.

I don’t disagree that it’s shameless self-promotion, like any awards are. There’s also industry politics at play, which is why I like to focus on the work itself, particularly those films overlooked. I agree, it should be about the art. But I’m no part of the machine, just someone with an interest.

At the Phoenix in Leicester tonight to see one of my favourite films, Donnie Darko, on the big screen for the first time. I cannot wait!

Ruud van Nistelrooy has just given his first press conference as Leicester manager. He started by going around the room shaking every single journalists hand and introducing himself. A certain Mr Ranieri did the same thing nine years ago, so he’s already off to a good start!
