Energy Department Announces Organizational Realignment to Strengthen Efficiency and Unleash American Energy The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced an organizational realignment designed to strengthen DOE’s ability to execute President Trump’s bold agenda to restore American energy dominance.

Fusion, AI, and Quantum have been identified as top science priorities for the Administration and highlighted in the Administration's FY27 budget priorities.

The reorganization reaffirms the prioritization.

As part of the reorganization, DOE has also established the "Office of Artificial Intelligence and Quantum (AIQ)" - with both offices now housed under the Under Secretary for Science.
