Question for scientists studying exercise/cardio (for a possible storyβ€”pls boost!): We know 8K+ steps daily & 150-300 min exercise/week each ↑ life expectancy. But, if a person can ONLY do one or the other, is there evidence suggesting one confers greater longevity/health benefit than the other?

It'd seem like someone getting 8-10K steps a day is already meeting the 150-300 min exercise a week, but I'm thinking more of 8-10K steps w/o breaking a sweat, spread thru-out a day vs. 300+ intense cardio min a week in burstsβ€”but not both. If you can only do one, which is better, or are they equal?

The draft dodging idiot posted a pic of this West Point plaque. It contains these words:

β€œOur American Code of Military Obedience requires that, should orders and the law ever conflict, our officers must obey the law.”

That is precisely what Senator Mark Kelly told officers to do. #NoSedition

Dear Director Bhattacharya:

I have an important question for you:

Do you hope to be taken seriously by the scientific community as someone who is making good faith efforts to understand issues with a scientific component who critically examines any data used as evidence in scientific arguments?

I ask because it is not at all obvious from many of your public comments including your recent opinion piece published with the NIH Deputy Director β€œTime to trash our pandemic playbook β€” making people healthy again may be the best medicine”.

We're leveraging our flu human challenge study at Emory University. Participants will talk, sing, and cough into a modified version of our sampling tunnel described at www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1..., with and without far-UVC lamps. Bill Lindsley redesigned the tunnel.

This is designed to tank public health & primary care by excluding public health professions, advanced nursing practice, physical & occupational therapy from loans that can cover the cost of education. This is going to make an existing workforce crisis worse.

Really great article by Dr. Craig Spencer who bravely attended the CHD anti-vaxxer meeting last week. He makes the case for the need for pro-vaccine public health practitioners to peek behind the curtain to understand the movement in order to better counter it.
