Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 absolutely stunned me.
Emotional storytelling? โ
Gorgeous, surreal world? โ
The characters? Not just excellent models they feel real.
The eyesโฆ I donโt know what kind of magic they used, but those eyes have more life in them than most games manage in their whole runtime.
"One of the great tragedies of mankind is that morality has been hijacked by religion. So now people assume that religion and morality have a necessary connection. But the basis of morality is really very simple and doesn't require religion at all."
Arthur C. Clarke
An unforgettable morning in Patagonia's Torres del Paine National Park. Gale force winds transform the calm turquoise waters of Lago Pehoe into a raging sea, blowing away crashing waves and literally lifting the water off the surface!
Patagonia truly is wilderness untamed! Furious winds transform the turquoise waters of lago Pehoe into a raging sea, blowing crashing waves side ways & literally lifting the water off the surface!

Reasons to Live Through the Apocalypse Sunrises. People you have still to meet and laugh with. Songs about love, peace, anger, and revolution. Walks in the woods. The smile you exchange with a stranger when you experience beauty accidentally together. Butterflies. Seeing your grandparents again. The moon in all her forms, whether half or full. Dogs. Birthdays and half-birthdays. That feeling of floating in love. Watching birds eat from bird feeders. The waves of happiness that follow the end of sadness. Brown eyes. Watching a boat cross an empty sea. Sunsets. Dipping your feet in the river. Balconies. Cake. The wind in your face when you roll the car window down on an open highway. Falling asleep to the sound of a steady heartbeat. Warm cups of tea on cold days. Hugs. Night skies. Art museums. Books filled with everything you do not yet know. Long conversations. Long-lost friends. Poetry.
I wrote this on one of the darkest days of my life. It gave me an anchor to hold onto.

21.01.2025 13:12 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0OF THE EMPIRE We will be known as a culture that feared death and adored power, that tried to vanquish insecurity for the few and cared little for the penury of the many. We will be known as a culture that taught and rewarded the amassing of things, that spoke little if at all about the quality of life for people (other people), for dogs, for rivers. All the world, in our eyes, they will say, was a commodity. And they will say that this structure was held together politically, which it was, and they will say also that our politics was no more than an apparatus to accommodate the feelings of the heart, and that the heart, in those days, was small, and hard, and full of meanness.

So always make time to share books with kids, and help them find books to love. Make reading central to everything you do. It will change their lives forever!

My loves, if you find today or any day difficult for you, I find there can be comfort in Tolkienโs words.
While some times may be terrifying, infuriating, or devastating, it is never hopeless.
ExJw here just chiming in to say I intensely relate to these feelings. Homeschooled and was hid away from the world. Doing the hard work of learning how the world works now in adulthood.
