Being of French Canadian descendants to this day a holiday doesn’t go by without pork pie and my Irish hubs lives for when I make up a batch of Gorton.

Salt pork was a staple for my mom’s Boston Baked Beans which I ate more than I care to remember 😂 with either hot dogs, ground beef patties or cube steaks and canned brown bread. We were not rich in the 60’s 70’s and food had to stretch. Homemade bread was always a staple as well.
