Trump promised different things on different days depending on who he was talking to. Many Trump Cult members who thought they knew what he meant were wrong. Sad for them and sad for us.

The US's loss of academics will be a big benefit for Europe and countries like Canada and Australia. Unfortunately, US voters voted for an idiot who is intent on deeply damaging everything that's good about the US.

Politically, illegal immigration is a huge issue now. We need clear policies on legal immigration and identity cards to show it.

Those scientists will have to move to somewhere like Canada or Europe. The world will continue to benefit while the US goes backwards.

It should be illegal for law enforcement offices to wear face masks and their names and bases should be shown.

It's certainly my wish. I used to like Jake Tapper. I always presumed he was a Republican but also that he cared about democracy in the US. Now that democracy is so much under attack by Trump, it doesn't help to go on and on about Joe Biden. And Trump is clearly in decline but Tapper hasn't noticed.

And don't waste your money buying the book about the previous president and your time in reading it.

If it means that we are to suffer a Farage government because of high immigration, then I think it has been a disaster. I would rather point out that really high immigration has only happened since Brexit. Farage is to blame.

The question is “Are there enough British people as stupid as American Republicans so that Farage and his mates can take over the government?” If so, we’ll be in trouble at the next election.

Voting for Trump is sad; it's an indication of ignorance or stupidity or both.

It would probably be best just for the UK government to forget that it ever made the offer of a second state visit. They'll get nothing out of Trump. Far better to concentrate on the EU, Canada, Australia and Japan.

This is the power of communication. Biden was highly effective as President but, in his later years, a poor communicator. Trump is the worst President ever in his actions but a very confident communicator. Trump wins for low-information voters, of which there are many.

Britain needs to be part of this - both as purchaser and manufacturer. Europeans, including the UK, can no longer trust the US for defence.

Hungary should be threatened with expulsion from the EU if it continues to support Russia. It can rejoin Russia if that's what it wants.

Trump is saying that states need to pay for significant items such as disaster relief. If this is to happen, taxes will need to move from federal to state level. As Democratic states are the richest in terms of GDP, this would be a good move for them but deeply unhelpful for the rest.

What judges are concerned about is Trump taking illegitimate power. As Trump seems to have little interest in how his actions affect ordinary people (rather than billionaires and millionaires), I'm on the side of the judges.

It's a good response but CNN would be far better off without Scott Jennings.

CNN is no longer worth watching. Jim Acosta was the best reporter / presenter on the channel. A big loss.

Properly funding public education is just what the Republicans do not want to do.
