I believe a permanent statue in the same halls of the Capitol that she forever changed is a recognition befitting her special legacy.

We will continue to speak our truths, honor our heroes, and stay our authentic selves, despite the hysteria of those who are desperate for us to do anything different.

This special, incomparable month persists as a shining beacon for all to hear that we will continue to tell our stories, despite efforts to erase them. We will continue to exercise our power, despite attempts to steal it.

It is a permanent signal to the supremacists and regressionists of America that we will not abide by their twisted vision for our place in our nation.

Black History Month is more than our precious opportunity to commemorate how far Black Americans have come, and how far our country still must go.

Political violence has no place in America, and those who incite it or carry it out must be held fully accountable.

By repeatedly promoting false, xenophobic narratives to energize its base, this administration has failed as a governing party, as leaders, and in its basic duty to uphold our shared humanity.

If Kristi Noem will not resign, and Donald Trump will not fire her, then Congress must and will impeach the DHS Secretary.

The leaders of this administration need to answer for their crimes against Minnesota and, unfortunately for them, canning Greg Bovino alone does not cut it.
