Just picked up my copy of DREAMS TO ASHES written by my writing friend Livia Blackburne and illustrated Nicole Xu! A gorgeous book about the 1871 Chinatown Massacre. Here's the cover and a page I found particularly meaningful.

Yes - I am applying and started preparing by working on my craft and on the manuscripts I will submit. I may be wrong, but I think this is what mentors will look at the most so this is what my focus is.
