I’ve started a blog! 🐦
One of the first posts is about everyday birds and the pleasures of watching them closely (and about Darwin ❤️🔥, Romanes and Kropotkin)

an illustration. Two figures sit in the woods on a starry night and look at each other. One sits on a rock with long flowy hair holding pan pipes. Another sits on the ground gaving up as a copy of a book flutters from their hand. The illustration is surrounded by a decorative border. Text reads "We didn't go to work today and we won't be going tomorrow. We choose to live our lives for Pleasure, and not for toil and sorrow." There is a decorative circle a and a trans symbol.

In the first row, the photo you want is a well-framed shot (there's a gorgeous mourning warbler standing on a branch). In the second row, the photo you'll get: an action shot (the bird is a fleeing blur). Next, you want a bird in sharp focus (an indigo bunting perched). But you'll get exquisite leaf detail (the bird is blurry but the leaves are in perfect focus). In the third row, you want a striking portrait (a Swainson's hawk looking at the camera). But you'll get... why (a kingbird screaming as it flies in front of the hawk and blocks the shot). Finally, the photo you want is pure elegance (a great blue heron standing in a marsh). But the photo you get is a pooping heron - maybe I can fix this in post.
An oldie that I'm thinking about a lot while I try to take warbler photos at Biggest Week in Ohio.
