Essentially all that damage was there while she lived, and is there in the first photo — I found it amazing that she could still fly. While she crawled flowers a bit more than usual, she flew quite a bit on those broken wings. Just an extremely powerful animal.

Requiem for a titan. 🖤 Days are getting shorter here, life in the garden is seeping away. This ancient monster had been flying around in shattered wings for days, visiting flowers, the last of her kind, instantly recognizable to me for how she moved. Yesterday I found her husk. Well done, love. 💔
