One thing I think abt a lot: Just imagine how well the economy would be doing if Trump hadn’t spent all of last year trashing the great economy he inherited? Tariffs, huge govt layoffs, slashing research/medical/science spending, torturing US cities with immigration raids. Economy would be humming!

Science has shown that diversity really is better. When different traditions and ways of thinking are added in, it spurs creativity and gives people new and different ways to think about how to improve their lives. Ignoring different ideas leads to stagnation, not greatness.

My theory of the moment: The extraordinary courage of ordinary people in places like Minneapolis is reawakening us to our social and economic ties to immigrants. It's making "love thy neighbor" cool again. That's the ultimate antidote to MAGA hate.
