It feels intertwined with the douchebag partners some of my straight female friends have - the dudes will go on and on about how they don't get the appeal of something their wife likes, often mocking it, and somehow this is normalised too.

And like... no ??? that's not acceptable ???

It feels so gross to see this behaviour normalised because if I was a partner and I saw you whining about it to your mates I'd think you're 'putting up with things I love' and that's just not okay??

What's it with cis dudes always acting like watching a movie they're not into with their spouse is some kind of boyfriend/husband duty that requires great suffering on their end.

It's something I keep on seeing from otherwise perfectly decent dudes and it gives me the ick.
