"La vida oficial" del proyecto Plasthreat ha llegado a su fin, pero seguimos trabajando intensamente con las muestras obtenidas, generando datos con el objetivo de cuantificar y aumentar nuestro conocimiento sobre la presencia de los plásticos y microplásticos presentes en el ecosistema canario mediante el empleo de la pardela cenicienta como organismo bioindicador. Seguiremos informando de nuestros avances!! Muchas gracias al Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, a la Agencia Estatal de Investigación y a los fondos NEXT GENERATION / Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia por hacer posible nuestro trabajo con la financiación otorgada.

Researchers from MNCN @csic.es, IQOG @csic.es, UNED & GOHNIC collaborate to assess the impact of #marine #plasticpollution on a #seabird, Cory's #shearwater, exploiting the #CanaryCurrent. This marine region is strategically important for #Spain & #Europe.

Cory’s shearwater as a key #bioindicator of #plastic #contamination in the North #Atlantic. We studied 1,238 deceased birds over 8 years!
