⚡️ Vite 7.0 is out!

- Browser Target Changed to Baseline Widely Available
- Node 18 support dropped. Vite is now distributed as ESM only
- And feats, fixes, and cleanups, while we prepare for rolldown!

You can get kinda close to the Cline Plan/Act stuff with Copilot by using Ask mode to plan what you’ll do asking it to break down the steps, then in the same chat switching to Agent and asking it to do it.

The main thing I love about Roo is orchestrator. It’ll break it down and push out subtasks.

If you want to give Cline or RooCode a try too, you can also use your Copilot license, it’ll just count in your monthly requests. In the model options it’s got experimental support for VS Code LM API.

That said, your Claude Pro will give Claude Code access too, which is pretty great too!

ChatGPT - Yay ASCII Art Shared via ChatGPT

Had fun building a new CLI tool with Copilot today to try out GPT-4.1. Everything went well till I tried to generate ASCII art again so I thought tonight I’d try out a couple models directly in ChatGPT. Things continued to go sideways… 🤣

The drive settings were pretty close to what I’ve used before too.
Tried some reverb settings on my Ventris too, and they are at least intriguing for new sounds to try.

ChatGPT sharing how to tweak 3 overdrive pedals and specific settings

Been having some fun testing out ChatGPT’s guitar pedal settings recommendations based on super specific gear. It’s needed some prompting to go look up exact control names, but had some surprisingly good results so far. Like most things in the AI realm, good for getting 60-70% there faster.

Part 2 from the end of the night

Came across some footage from earlier this year playing with Eric B Turner. The second clip was probably the most fun part of the night — love getting to lock in with a great band and having new ideas come together organically live.

I made a starter pack that includes all the folks in the tech industry who are sometimes inclined to jam. The list also includes @questlove.bsky.social because he should be on ALL lists the include musicians for all time.

Also seems the dotnet version from dnf is slightly behind on 41 vs 40.

If you’re on Fedora 41, you’ll want to use the dotnet installer script rather than dnf. It kept trying to pull the dashboard nuget with a -fedora variant (which doesn’t exist) instead of -linux (which does). All works perfectly with the install script version.

Spent some time trying out #dotnet Aspire last night. Definitely impressed so far. I was surprised how easy it was to pull in non dotnet workloads too.
