this support email made my cry, but in the best way possible
i love my job
on trustpilot, 6 five star reviews average out to 4.2 stars

31.07.2025 13:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0as soon as I got one (REAL) review on trustpilot, I started getting emails like this every day :(
30.07.2025 13:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0i am very happy with my progress on operation "send a lot more email" this month!
i'm now sending a weekly broadcast along with a bunch more welcome / lifecycle emails
Ha!

I turned famous paintings into coloring pages (and you can too): 17% open rate
What happens when you feed a Van Gogh into AI?: 30% open rate
feel like i should lean into the questions more
Emails to my email list, either broadcast or automated sequences
Sending with Bento
new home page hero and font
i do nothing with my personal site
but still fun to update it once in a while
i'm going to see what happens if i send more email
on track for 70k emails sent this month
and maybe 100k next month
taken me a long time to come up with a new strategy but very excited about this
one thing you should know about me is that i completely borked my attribution tracking right before heading into my highest revenue month ever
so it's been a fun past few weeks
but i have no idea why
π
I had fun turning famous art into coloring pages this week
I put it together into a coloring book to use as an asset for email sequences
it's a nice evergreen piece of content
got a few more evergreen ideas to put together that I'm excited about!

i think this is so cool
i use @getfernand for my support inbox
they allow you to fetch custom data and initiate actions from their sidebar
hooked up a bunch of common tasks so i can see and do everything in one view without hopping over to my admin.
saves a ton of time for me!
i thought this was an odd feature request, since coloring is supposed to be the fun part
but enough people asked for an auto-color feature that I shipped it
use cases:
- for making a cover for your coloring book
- getting ideas for how to color a page
- for fun

yeah, and i gave them some free credits to come back and try it again :)

02.06.2025 14:00 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0added support for flux-kontext to colorbliss today!
you can now edit your coloring pages with text prompts
here are some image edits from today:
- change the background to the grand canyon
- make his hat say "grateful dad", outline only
- turn the sun into the moon
i also solved a super frustrating performance bug that actually followed the migration to astro
turns out svg gaussian blur filters are super expensive and can add 10s or more to total blocking time!!
excited to finish this out!
23.05.2025 17:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0i started migrating the colorbliss marketing site to astro (from nextjs) this week
i have the home page and another template migrated so far, and I'm very pleased at the initial results.
Claude 4 has been super helpful converting my react templates to straight html astro components
Growth and churn met each other

mothers day is on sunday
here's a fun idea
get some pictures of each kid with mom, turn them into coloring pages, and let them color them for her
you're welcome :)

i'm very happy to see some growth after that plateau
and also happy to see that the growth isn't wrecking my emotions right now as far as i can tell
just feeling grateful and looking forward to get to keep doing this
but when things flat-lined, every day was tough. month after month of trying things, with no indication that they were working. felt like running to stand still
after 6 months of that slog, I think I have a much calmer relationship between my emotions and the day to day of the business
this monthly recurring revenue plateau has been the hardest part of the ride so far
it was easy to share wins and lessons and tips when the business was growing
