This is literally the best article on this topic I've ever read. It is something that many game devs can tell you straight to your face, and something SO many people simply don't believe.

I cannot stress this enough: this is not possible

in a literal technological sense: you cannot train an AI and expect even comprehensible results with under ~1 million pieces of data, nobody can supply all that with the variance needed. You can only achieve it through wanton scraping

an early AI generated image, which clearly is taken from product photos on ebay or something, but is too rough and poorly trained to actually portray any identifiable item, it's a big incomprehensible mishmash with the "vibe" of something you can't put your finger on

so when someone says they're only training on their own data, that is a crock of shit they're either selling to you, or was sold to them. Someone somewhere got scammed for investment money lol

Of course, I’d argue (with more space) that the story is not the game artefact, but the space between player, experience & design intent.

So that’s why I use the specific term ‘[choices don’t need] *mechanical consequences*’ to make meaning.

“no one owes you a game you can complete, they just make sure you don’t fail for the wrong reasons” is maybe the most succinct way to convey exactly how i feel about accessibility and its purpose. bring everyone to the same starting line with the tools needed to meet the intent of the game.
