Whole Lotto Nothing Award-winning novelist Erasmo Guerra shares rich memories of his late father playing the lotto in Mission, Texas.

My dad’s idea of breakfast was a cup of coffee and a few scratch-off games from the Texas Lotto.

A blue-collar, Mexican-American from the U.S.-Mexico border, my dad never hit it big. But I have rich memories of him playing.
