We joined the WI because it was trans inclusive. My wife is on our committee. After she organised the Christmas dinner she heard she has to leave.We are devastated.
Many WI members do not yet realise what is happening.Ladies we know are very supportive, but there is no way my wife can keep going.

I have just made another complaint to the BBC, which I fully expect them to brush off again.

Suffice to say, I made two complaints about him to the BBC on Saturday morning, before I switched the radio off at 8:10.

Well at least you didn't have to think of the opening line this morning!

Through my spouse I have some idea of how hard it is for any trans woman.
I am incredibly proud of her.
I cannot begin to imagine what it is like for anyone who puts themselves in the public eye the way you do. We are both incredibly grateful that you do this.

Thank you for expressing your opinions and for your support. The BBC appears to have forgotten the idea of neutrality, as well as their role as educators. They are very choosy about the debates they are prepared to participate in.

Some good news after the announcement today from the WI.

I am devastated, particularly on behalf of my spouse who is on our WI ctte and has just organised our Christmas dinner. The members of the WI have been incredibly welcoming and we feel abandoned.

I regret to say, girl guiding is only the beginning.
Now the WI (Women's Institute) has said that trans women can no longer be members.

I suspect there is some very big money involved. We have been battling for years but it has got much worse since 16th April.

The guides appear happy to keep trans girls, but they certainly don't have the resources to fight the big money that is probably sponsoring this complaint.

A trans girl is unlikely to join the scouts,since that approach is what she is trying to escape from.

That is an appalling thing to say. I am so sorry.

The draft guidance certainly doesn't follow the law and we don't believe it has changed.
The results of the consultation will not be published until after the guidance is pushed through.
The EHRC guidance will be pushed through without going to parliament, a massive blow to human rights.
