Got a box of treats from @bimberdistillery.bsky.social and @dunphaildistillery.bsky.social this week. I’ll report back when I open them, but I loved visiting Dunphail last year.

On the nose the peat mixes well with the other aromas, and initially comes across similar to a peated red wine cask finished dram. A meatiness is also here, honey glazed ham, with bbq sauce or ketchup. A pine freshness also hangs around in the background. @dunphaildistillery.bsky.social

The palate is all fruit, a real red berry medley, with loverly cherry drop sweets. It is obviously a high ABV, but it warms the palate nicely. Damsons arrive late, with black coffee, and it stays quite jam like.

I do love to try new make spirit, they’re all different. This is Unpeated from @dunphaildistillery.bsky.social. On the nose it’s raspberry ripple ice cream all day long, with strawberry jam, icing from the top of a Bakewell tart.
