As a Chicagoan there's nothing I hate more than having to care about what's happening in New York City, but just for tonight, I'm happy for them.

Maybe pundits should spend more time in densely packed, left leaning urban areas where the "real Americans" live

The passage of CA Prop 50 wraps a big night on the democracy/voting rights front. In addition to Prop 50, most notably: ME rejected voting restrictions, PA preserved its liberal supreme court majority, and VA cleared a path to end its Jim Crow-era system of lifetime felony disenfranchisement.
