if I were directing a hurricane preparedness campaign, the metric I would use to determine effectiveness would be the number of followers gained or sign ups gained to the info page. This metric shows the quantitive data of the reach and awareness the campaign had. #Crisis8 #Com385

If I was Amazon, in this case I think I would β€œfight fire with fire” by responding in a humorous way, but also still addresses concerns. Ex. β€œNot yet first we’re gonna try putting it in rice. Thanks for being patient we’ll get back to you when things are up and working again.” #Crisis7 #com385

Social media complicates audiences because there is little control over who the post ends up reaching. Intened: young female women who have disposable income for clothing unintented: non target audience who see the post as tone deaf and may need to save money for necessities

I believe Benoit’s theory is slightly more useful, it assumes the accused is always somewhat responsible, while Coombs’ theory is based on the responsibility of the org. Although Coombs’ theory uses more practicality to address the degree of the situation, Benoit’ β€œbetter safe than sorry” is my pick

This response is an anger response made by an activist: someone with high anger and high efficacy. They seem to continue have high emotions to a crisis that happened a while ago, and are willing to share their opinion based on how emotional it made them. #Crisis4 #Com385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social

Pros of this fear appeal ad:
Not too gory
Doesn’t stigmatize a group
Creative imagery

Cons:
Using a child may not have drivers build personal connection
Message not clear without copy

Overall: threat does not seem as big, less likely to be effective
BUT imagery makes audience read & reflect

Effective warning comm:
Use of color (red)
Clear, concise messaging
Large lettering
Gives clear instructions to audience
Overall: informs audience of risk, offers alternative (go back to page) includes a symbol to indicate the message, uses simple but effective wording to convey message.

If I were hired by a large org. I would choose L.H, H.O comm.
It is most interesting and requires strategic planning and execution to fix the outrage which I enjoy. It isn’t as common as L.H L.O and H.O L.O, but doesn’t have the severity level of H.H H.O.
