Novelette manuscript's been done since last summer, but I've been waiting on other stuff that ran over schedule and now it's eight months later.

Clearly I don't understand the appeal of AI. I thought this would come across as condescending and unhelpful.

Notably, my version of the scene replaces Chris Hemsworth with a nonbinary femme and her trans butch roommate. Whether this is an improvement I can't say.

There's a joke in Weapon 2 where an AI, sensing its owner's frustration with its privacy invasions, attempts to book a massage to calm them down.

Apparently this is the selling point of Amazon's Alexa in their Super Bowl ad, so I want it on the record I drafted Weapon 2 months before the ad aired.

My writing style is what I would describe as "stupid"

Writing is only like 10-15% writing and the better you get at writing the less writing you get to do per writing.

Starting to draft part 3 while I wait for beta-ing on part 2. Fully resigned to this one probably running well into novelette range. I wanna do it right.

If there's ever a Weaponverse tankobon release I'll have to bill it as a short fiction anthology instead of a short story anthology.

But doing it this way will require some experimenting with the POV that I'd expect to push at least one story over the 10,000 word threshold into novelette territory, slowing my writing process considerably

Writing stories in a connected universe but not true sequels means the order of events is often flexible.

Can't decide if the zombiehunter tournament arc should be Weaponverse 3 or 4. The core events don't really change but there are fun character moments that only work one way or the other.

I really hope we were all on the same page after the first story that the arms-dealing megacorp who wrested control of society through human experimentation and genocide aren't good guys, despite Uriel's heroic posturing.

Otherwise the response to this one is going to be... annoying.

The characters in Weaponverse 2 Electric Weapoloo do some objectively unforgivable stuff, huh

Writing a major character with neopronouns is forcing me to practice using neopronouns, which as a neopronoun user I struggle more with than I should.

Might have to get some proper beta reading on this one, it's too weird and deals in too many potential real-world issues.

I mean the stories have individual names. I'd leak the title of the second one, but I'm afraid I'll hate it by the time it comes out.
