He would have been 86 today. But sadly he past away way to young. He did some icon roles in film and on stage. I love him in the Addams family, the gumball rally and kiss of the spider woman. He single-handedly made Street Fighter a watchable movie with his over the top but awesome performance as M. Bison while he was dying of cancer.
His last released made for tv movie was Down came a blackbird. In this movie it was very visible he was not doing well and still he gave a magnificent performance.
Wishing him a happy heavenly birthday!

My grandfather's mother was a mystery to us until after his death, when I started to seriously research it. Finally cracked it through census records. It turns out her family was next door neighbors with my great-grandfather โ which is how I uncovered the acrobatic vaudeville troupe (a perfect explanation for my very dramatic, theatrical family)
Most of them were born in Mexico and came to Chicago with the railroad in the early 1900s, but they kept performing after immigrating. They toured the vaudeville circuit doing acrobatics and even opened for Charlie Chaplin at the Ohio Fair at one point. Over time parts of the family branched off into music โ especially mariachi โ and played together with my grandpaโs dad. He later performed as a mariachi musician at the Chicago Worldโs Fair in 1933.
This is the first and only picture I have of my great grandmother, and I love her attitude with the arms crossed. She really looks like my cousin here. I wish I could have seen them perform.

Mum and dad met at the โdancingโ in Lanarkshire, Scotland in the mid-sixties. Despite some family objections, and mum ditching dad before an extended trip to Canada (and getting engaged to a dentist called Roy while over there), they finally made things official after bumping into each other at Glasgowโs Central Station after mumโs return from Canada (without Roy), realising that they were meant to be together. Dad had a stroke last year, but still gardens, sings in a choir and does the accounts for the local church. Mum has been battling Parkinsonโs heroically for 24 years, and although it is robbing her every day of a little bit of independence, she still bakes cakes and cooks for dad. Theyโre awesome.
