Specifically in Texas. I’ve always disliked how the GOP seems to own the Christian vote, when a lot of the values I associate with Christianity seem more aligned with Democrats, at least in my opinion.

I like him, and I like JC too, but I think JT will be great at expanding the base.

I’m looking for Agave stricta seeds 👀

Putting this out there in case someone knows a source I’m unaware of.

Chances are pretty good, in my experience, if you physically move the pollen like I do in this video, or use tweezers. I used to try cross-pollinating with a paintbrush and had less success that way.

Growing from seed is fun, and Aloes don’t require quite as much patience as cacti.

I love growing from seed and hybridizing. It gives me something to look forward to, which feels especially important when the world seems like it’s going to hell.

Another cross I made today

It’s a beautiful day in the garden.
Today I’m working on aloe hybridizing, moving pollen, tagging flowers, and imagining what might bloom a few years from now.

A type of succulent plant called and Aeonium “kiwi” with numerous green rosettes with yellow centers with a bit of pink.

I have two Lophophoras in bloom right now, and I’m going to try cross-pollinating them in hopes of collecting some seed. 🤞

It’s 75°F today, so I gave my potted cacti a tiny sip of water and noticed a few are already in bloom. 🌵✨
