3 Screenshots from the movie "Back to the Future" (1985): First, a close-up of a young man and woman dressed in 1950s attire, gazing affectionately at each other on a dance floor, evoking a pivotal romantic moment. Second, a digital display showing "Nov 12, 1955" as the destination date, central to the film's time-travel plot. Third, an image of the town clock tower at night, with a dramatic lightning bolt striking the clock
Nov 12th - The Hill Valley clock tower was struck by lightning, George decked Biff and saved Lorraine, Marty travelled Back to the Future.

How we revere and respect Michael D. Higgins is a little different to the 2 Mary's.
Before I was alive, from what I can gather people barely thought about the role at all.
I support a vague magical notion of a philosopher king at the top of the Republic briefly doted upon for their virtue
Watched The Siege (1998) last night.
It was a bit of a memory hole for me and I wasn't sure if it was over the top or obscenely prescient.
It does end with Hollywood joy as the bad guys are dead and an evil general is arrested.
But feck if it isn't Andor-like in reading history /holding a mirror
Not that continuity, call backs or eater eggs mean much of anything to this franchise, but the Dalton era does include Felix and reference to a dead wife.
I often take a lot of the movies as a little more standalone than we'd be used to that days.
Casino Royale was a hard reboot and it made little to no illusions to being the same character as any of the previous films.
GoldenEye was also a soft reboot that was less connected to the previous actors.
Dr. No to License to Kill is vaguely the same continuity, that can't continue.

11.11.2025 09:53 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 1Lots of memes and reels/til toks recently for the 50th anniversary of the ship wreck made famous by a folk song, the Edmund Fitzgerald.
I recently watched this impeccable and respectfully made long form documentary on the history of the ship and it's sinking.

If you've ever needed a reason to rally behind the BBC then this is it.

We are confronted with complex, wicked problems in which seemingly unrelated aspects of our challenges are deeply interconnected. The poor and marginalised will be hit hardest by the consequences of climate change.

It sort of vaguely will be open north of the highest speed bits.

Leas commitment, less stress.
I consume a lot less tv news and a lot less British news (since Brexit), but these BBC resignations look like they stink a little.

He's in 4th and has already put under a safety car thanks to a puncture.
There's luck, and there's talent and he's nipping and McLaren's break lights.
Piastri has locked in and this will be an absolute cracking race!

WATCH: Seriously, if youโre following ANY bike-lane debate, you HAVE TO WATCH this news story. You actually canโt make this up. Ford claims without evidence that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data.
Safe bike-lanes mean business.
When people ignorantly label "cyclists" as entitled for wanting equitable infrastructure, just remember, they're oppressing people with mobility challenges as well with that rhetoric.
