The Aputsum of Salotum have readily adopted many human customs since their island was opened up to the outside world in 1875. One newfound pastime is basketball. Though less stable on two legs, brubafa can still move rapidly and deftly in a bipedal stance.

Though nowhere near as expansive as human conflicts, brubafa warfare is well documented, particularly in Salotum’s Aputsum people. Rarely equipped in more than light armor, those of high status adorned their garbs with jewel beetles to further augment their opulence.

As facultative bipeds, most brubafa find it easier to walk on all fours. This necessitates a hand covering that is easily removable, yet sturdy & sanitary. Handshoes are one such solution, with findings suggesting they were first crafted over 140,000 years ago #salotum #specevo #worldbuilding

Three trolls from a rainforest biome. The Greater honey troll, Common tree troll and Giant fruit troll all occupy different niches that make use of their various proboscis. These beasts are gigantic primates, but have no external nostrils.

A freak mutation, an island population, a rainforest destination? Trolls inhabiting the Western Rainforests speciated into some of the wackiest, most diverse creatures of the jungles, eating everything from leaves to honey.

The quest for refinement, resulting in a flamboyant, Fracas-style Compsognathus. Pigeon colors took over, leading to some more stylized feathers and unnatural traits.

Tlatolophus and Stegouros inspired by Aztec art. Tlatolophus is a Late Cretaceous hadrosaur discovered in the Mexican Cerro del Pueblo Formation. Stegouros is a Late Cretaceous ankylosaurian discovered in the Chilean Dorotea Formation. I drew these guys back in 2021 when they were first described!

Is there a paleo diorama you haven’t done yet and want to create in the future? Could be a specific fossil site, certain environment type, particular taxa or taxon being featured, or cultural significance?
