you’re approaching this from the POV as a civilian: They signed up for a possibility of a long deployment, and Nimitz class carriers are made for long deployments.

Being burned out isn’t an excuse in the military. What is an excuse is bad leadership, training, and communication.

All leads to this.

They don’t slack off.

They work harder than any civilian works and get paid less while working 12 on 12 off for 7 days a week in 130 degree weather.

The issue is bad training, leadership, and poor communication - which always has caused issues like this in the past.
