Always head-spinning how the venezuelan people (or whoever) are innocent victims of a reign of terror at home but if they try to flee and come here they become sinister illegal aliens. In this case the transformation happens within two sentences

AI kind of feels like the endgame of this bit Graeber described in the original Bullshit Jobs essay: these people have been so thoroughly cleaved from any sense of purpose that they resent those who have one. They hate artists for their skill and think poverty should be the price of having a calling

Yeah no oyster card necessary at this point; we just assigned a different tap to pay credit card to each person.

I got confused because so many people who had been there five+ years ago were talking about oyster cards and the tfl site is confusing about fares but we just assigned a different credit card to each person and tap-to-pay was easy. No oyster cards necessary!!

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17Β’ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

My wife said Trump loves NYC and his own personal heaven is like 1985 NYC and the people of NYC overwhelmingly love Mamdani and shipped Trump to Florida and Trump is in awe of that fact that this guy convinced NYC to love him even with the press and Richie Riches against him and she's got a point

#NewYorkCity! We have a new, reliable, multi-organization coalition hotline for reporting ICE activity! It will be live on Saturday, November 15th.

I will be handing them out on the 15th as part of the NYC Day of Action.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

along with the heinous literal crimes i think a lot about how there's a kind of moral, national crime in subjecting all of us to this, to this consuming our politics, committed against us by a number of powerful and connected people up to and including the president

Joke of the day from Moscow: Russia tried to unveil its first humanoid AI robot, Aidol. Key word: tried. The robot collapsed during its debut, forcing organizers to cut the presentation short. Their rushed attempt to lift the prop only made things worse.

In NYC at least you can get cabs with car seats from various places including uber. Also as far as I know in most places cabs are an exception to the car seat laws so although it’s unsafe it’s not illegal!

They caved in March so they could get a better deal now. They’re caving now so they can get a better deal in some indeterminate future. The better deal is always just beyond their reach, but continuing to cave will get them there. And if you don’t agree with that, you don’t understand Politics,

Some thoughts on the CR/minibus.

1 The Dems negotiating with Rs were not freelancing. They coordinated with Sen Schumer. A few were ready to give in on day one, others worked to maximize appropriations wins.

Those voting for the 'deal' are the ones furthest away from electoral consequences.
