Really enjoyed the stage adaptation of Pontypool at the Wales Millennium Centre this week. It worked so well as a single-location play

I know my eyes arenโ€™t quite what they used to be, but come on - how am I supposed to read this tiny print against clear packaging?!

Waiting my turn in our local barbers. The teenager currently in the barber chair just asked for a mullet. I mean, actually asked for one. By choice.

Maybe Iโ€™ve underestimated the appeal of DIY tools. This one sounds much more useful

Surprising what you can find behind the fridge. Last time I did a reach around I found a big knob

I do! I hadnโ€™t realised itโ€™s on there. Itโ€™s one of those films Iโ€™ve known about for years (former Video Nasty) but never got round to buying a copy of. Iโ€™ll have to check it out now. Thanks for the heads up!

This yearโ€™s version of my traditional contribution to the family get-together Christmas dinner - a good old traditional 1970s-style Trifle.

Something very disturbing about this, it makes me think of intestines. Thank goodness they didnโ€™t have it in pink

Got that horrible scratchy feeling at the back of my nose/throat - ie first sign of a cold. Yeuch. Just in time for the crazy busy two weeks leading up to Christmas โ˜น๏ธ

Didnโ€™t have great expectations for this, but I was pleasantly surprised. Relies on atmosphere, tension and great set design, rather than jump scares and gore. Slightly let down by CGI towards the end, but still very enjoyable and creepy

Was using one of those razor-blade type mandolins to thinly slice vegetables earlier, got a bit carried away and the inevitable happened. It shaved a clean slice of skin off my thumb (nothing serious) but blimey so much blood. Let's just say the meal is no longer vegetarian

Just watched a YouTuber describing a train with โ€œno bogiesโ€. Six-year-old me would have found that absolutely hilarious

Now watching The Wages Of Fear (1953). Iโ€™ve only seen the 1977 version of the story (Friedkinโ€™s โ€˜Sorcererโ€™, which I liked) so itโ€™ll be interesting to see the โ€˜originalโ€™ French film adaptation

Today I have an ear-word (not ear-worm). 'Schwa'. It's a linguistic term for the most-used vowel sound in spoken English (eg it's the 1st and 3rd 'a' in 'banana'). It's represented by the symbol of an upside down 'e'

I was sitting in the doctor's waiting room earlier, watching the screen that plays information about the place and a few local adverts. Including one for a nearby funeral director. I bet anxious patients feel much more at ease seeing that!

A photo of Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool with the text:

Ryan Reynolds paid $10,000 of his own money for the right to wear a shirt with The Golden Girl's Bea Arthur on it in Deadpool. Arthur's estate agreed for a donation in that amount to a charity of their choosing. Ryan paid it himself because he felt you couldn't have Deadpool without Bea Arthur.
