The National Military Museum in Soesterberg museum not only displays the famous painting of Jan Willem Pieneman of the battle of Quatre Bras (1815). It also shows the jacket and cocked hat of the Prince of Orange. He wore it during the battle of Waterloo.

On this day in 1815, the Battle of Quatre Bras was fought. Dutch (with the Prince of Orange), Hanoverian, and British troops stopped French Marshal Ney at a vital crossroads, frustrating Napoleon’s plan to split the allies. The preliminary engagement to the Battle of Waterloo.
