Today of all days I did a random weekend shift at the big hospital. Due to severe snow I was picked up by a fantastic volunteer 4x4 service and got home via an expert Bus driver and a train that changed its mind and unusually stopped at my town as all the other trains were cancelled.

Tomorrow evening it’ll be my annual duty to vaguely shepherd the activity on the #duvetknowitschristmas hashtag and urge people to give small sums to charity. 7.30pm? Something like that?

So looking forward to my favourite pre-Christmas Chaos activity. It's been a busy, draining and at times challenging year and this is the prefect way to process and move on

the entire debate cis people have about trans people is moronic to start but it’s also a debate most trans people don’t care about, being that if we are viewed as “real women or men” or not. no one gives a fuck. it changes nothing about the reality that transitioning rocks

From this infinite monkey, I offer a heart and a mind that is open to so many possibilities of what it is to be human, hopefully other members of the gang will feel similarly #translivesmatter #lgbtq

Today is a day we mourn our dead.

And we fight like hell for the living.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Amid anti-trans politics, today is a day of reflection. A day to mourn those we have all lost.

Each name is a reminder to love and fight for each other, and especially for those most marginalised.

With solidarity, we will build a better world for us all.

Really enjoyed our Acute Care at Home SLT CEN meeting today. We had presentations on, and discussed, Ultra Rapid response services and using Patient reported outcomes data. Am buzzing with ideas 💡 for our service

@angelapointon.bsky.social, Elaine Hunter and I had the opportunity to talk #dementia, #brainhealth and the role of AHPs to physio students at #RGU today. Lots of engagement and hopefully good feedback.

How wonderful to have a joint meeting with the Welsh AHP dementia forum today. Great discussions about the newly published ADI report about rehabilitation in dementia and it's implications for AHPs

Absolutely fantastic day at the #RCSLT Scottish hub day. A wee contribution by myself and @sltros.bsky.social with a lightening talk on how we have used data in developing SLT frailty services but really enjoyed brilliant and challenging talks on AI and leadership

A lovely day in Gairloch, I am not a mountain climber and barely tolerate hills, this seemed to be doable but required some actual climbing which was terrifying! But amazing views all the way to Skye

☑️ New research in @Age_and_Ageing

⭐️The 4AT is more than a #delirium tool: a score of ≥1 has an 87% sensitivity for known #dementia in older hospital patients.

➡️ Could assist in identifying dementia in hospital inpatients.

I was driving along a road in Aberdeen today thinking exactly this, it didn't feel exclusive but inclusive and I hope it feels that way to everyone.

I see a lot of this in people referred due to swallowing difficulties where no one has explained to the family or the person that this is part of increasing frailty and a trajectory that is predictable.

Very lucky to have been given the opportunity to see this last night. I didn't know what it was about and only vaguely knew who Rhod was. But the show is side splittingly funny, desperately sad, thought provoking and positive. I spent the way home explaining H+N cancers to my non SLT friends though
