A lot of Respawn people were ex-IW devs. And a lot of people from Wildlight came from Respawn.

Even if a lot of these weren't the same that came from IW, this would still demolish the morale of any team going through it.

And you just know it could've gone even worse, 'cause at the very least they gave it *some* physical buttons, while the trend a few years ago would be just making everything yet another toggle or slider inside a flood of nested menus accessed through a single touchscreen.

Feeling "safe" is paramount. Animation teams having to worry whether their entire workflow, rigs and assets will have to be reworked on Adobe's whim? They'll probably be seeking alternatives.

College was that moment when all that lateral thinking and knowledge-sponginess was essentially useless when a lot of the fundamental classes were about very strict principles that had to be memorized and made very little sense. Creativity was discouraged.

No wonder my performance tanked hard :D

Similar case here. They didn't have a "gifted kid" program, but the list of things they tried...
- Considered having me skip a year
- Put me in many extra-curricular activities, most of them art-related
- Gave me advanced books and material that were beyond my grade
...And then came college :D

This reminds me of how a friend of mine recommended buying a box of floppy disks alongside the Dualshock 3, because the springs in the triggers were prone to snapping/being lost in maintenance and floppy disk dust cover springs were *almost exactly* the right size to improvise a replacement.
