So far it’s been a ton of fun to drive. And gets a loooot of looks since there’s very few of them in the wild.

One of my new toys are not like the others, but yet it somehow fits in.

My phone server is on a proxmox standalone. Proxmox has been extremely stable. I use it so I can easily snapshot/backup the call manager without interrupting it. I’ve thought about breaking the DVR servers off but MS A3 doesn’t allow barebone server install it has to be virtualized.

They do indeed. In this case it seems to be a bug with the snapshot system built into the array. This is the second time it’s die this weird runoff that has filled the array. Normally they’re about 1.6tb snapshots. Not 30tb. lol. The magic of IT. Lol

It houses half of our district and is 40 TB. It’s one of several. But it’s the only one that doesn’t share the actual VMs so it’s funny this it’s the one misbehaving and causing stuff to stall. I just shut off the snapshot feature on the actual array. That should prevent future crashes.

Honestly this seems to be the only thing this makes it crap the bed and I don’t get why. The VMs don’t even live on that array. It’s only the security camera volumes. But it takes everything down.

I had a storage array decide to have a snapshot runoff again and fill the array up. Fortunately once I killed the snapshot and deleted it everything came back online fine.

VMware isn’t as redundant as they’d like you to believe.

There is nothing I love more than coming in on a Monday morning to our vsphere system having crashed and burned.
