I haven’t drawn anything outside of work for years, but I sure do admire the artists who found that balance!

Ah, the eternal struggle! I could never balance doing my own art while working on different series (and that line blurred big-time with KvK). I ended up making the choice to find joy in whatever work was in front of me and stop feeling guilty for the empty sketchbooks I accumulated.

There’s a great book on the history of Canadian cartooning called “The Hecklers”. Required reading for all cartoonists!

The cartoonist was named Bob Bierman. Vander Zalm sued him for defamation. BC Court of Appeal upheld his - and all cartoonists - right to ridicule and satire their subjects.
