Before this was official I ran into a few companies where they had separate MAR rates by connector (slightly different from the new stuff), and it was a nightmare.

I would think so, but also open's up Snowflake opportunity to own more upstream processing. In enterprise I think they lose some of those workloads to Spark streaming in Databricks and Confluent.

@streamkap.bsky.social is, I believe, the only company that offers Kafka BYOC. Our model is application first rather than just providing underlying infrastructure like Redpanda/Confluent/Warpstream. Our customers love the approach. Expecting to see a lot more of this in 2025 🚀

Streaming opens up lower latency but it also power the increasing shift-left architectures. Reducing latency, cost and complexity by moving data processing to the stream to power operational and customer-facing processes.

This is the convergence of several huge trends. Cloud adoption with a desire to maintain data residency/ownership compounded by AI dramatically increasing the value of enterprise data. US companies won't send their data to DeepSeek servers in China but many would run the models in their own cloud.

Our customers @streamkap.bsky.social are loving our BYOC and it's driving much faster adoption in enterprise and generally in industries like finance and healthcare.

This follows a $220m acquisition of Warpstream by Confluent last year, which was anchored on the strength of Warpstream's BYOC offering.

BYOC streaming is so hot right now. Rumors swirling around a potential $1.5B acquisition of Redpanda by Snowflake.

too true, some say it's because you actually land in France and have to taxi across Belgium into the Netherlands

The funniest part about this route is that you spend more time taxiing at Schipol than you spend in the air on the way there.

I'm pretty sure it's because of the second point, it probably means the recruiter don't have an exclusive contract with the company so if people come in through another channel they lose out.
