This was the position I was in and I had to restart. The problem is the 1st act has a lot to do if you're not making a beeline for the plot, so I'm at 10 hours and still haven't got back to where I was.

What is a TTRPG? Oh fucking hell. There’s not a single answer but it’s basically like a bunch stuff smushed together. It’s like a murder mystery in that you’re usually playing a character and can get into it as much or as little as you like, and there’s a story going on with a conclusion you’re all working towards. It’s like a board game in that there are rules, and sometimes you get to pick the rules, and for some people they can feel like they’re winning when they get the game to work a specific way. It’s like getting a coffee with your friends, because mostly you’re sat around with people you quite like having a conversation. Except it’s about elves and shit. It’s like a movie because you’re watching a story and you get to try and make the scenes happen that you want to see. Being a GM is like cooking for your friends because you can put as much or as little effort into it as you like, you will stress about it too much and when you get it out on the table everyone is just happy you made the effort.

I'm still writing down my off the cuff thoughts about TTRPGs so today lets answer the big questions badly.

The whole 'Ghibli-esque' thing is a perfect encapsulation of the erosion of critical reading; bad actors frame surface aesthetics as a 'brand', and discard any of the critiques inherent in the narrative. Hollowing out the work until only the 'brand' remains.

I too am glad of the Matchmaking, though apparently the timer is a bit challenging and there's a lack of self revive, which means the pubstove may run a little hot for me.

That feels like the intention, with the bigger numbers providing constant progress rather than the 10 level climb we used to do. The problem is with specific tiers, and lockouts below certain power levels, each individual power increase is functionally meaningless.
