I think that's about it for the region itself, for now. There are many other things I'd like to share about Nevma of course, but many have been subject to change. Instead, I'm planning on sharing more details on characters, locations, and Pokemon in their own posts/threads.

I've also liked the idea of the region having its own Johto National Park-inspired contests. It would be based on irl fishing contests instead, however. I like the idea of trainers testing their fishing luck to compete for various prizes. Also considered a Water-type gym being tied to it, naturally!

The only gym I've been 100% certain on was the Dark-type gym in Nocturne City, which was to be a large night-life city based in the Northern part of Nevma. I plan on expanding more on this in its own thread so keep a lookout for that. (:

Hickory enlisted the help of trainers who specialized or otherwise preferred specific types to aid in his research, aiding these trainers in their individual journeys in whatever ways he could. Trainers were asked to study and share behaviors of their teams as they accomplished their personal goals.

This story and its characters were driven by the region's professor: Professor Hickory. Hickory's field of study was Pokemon types, researching what exactly determined a Pokemon or move's types, while also studying how Pokemon would draw power from said elements/types.

-- was meant to be a completely original story following several trainers as they explored the region. Naturally, some of them made it into this tournament. 1st place became Champ and 3rd place became the "missing" gym, while 2nd place ended up doing their own thing for further story reasons.

The region has struggled to maintain a standardized Pokemon League -- at one point using its existing 7-gym League to host a tournament to find not only its 8th gym to become standardized again, but also to crown a new Champion. This story was originally to be told in "Living Color," which --

The most notable landmark of the region would definitely be the inactive volcano in the middle of the region. Unnamed even 12 years later, this mountainous area is home to many Ice-type pokemon due to the frequent snowfall and low temps at high altitude. It's likely the oldest part of Nevma!

NEVMA

This island continent-based region is the basis for many of my ideas since roughly 2013. The mostly-circular region has undergone many changes over the years but there are a handful of constants as several stories and concepts have taken form.
