Cursor Goes To War For AI Coding Dominance After becoming the hottest, fastest growing AI coding company, Cursor is confronting a new reality: developers may no longer need a code editor at all.

"For now, Cursor’s continued growth comes with a big dose of anxiety. Inside the startup, revenue tracking became so distracting that the company stopped reporting daily figures in its #numbers Slack channel, according to people familiar with the decision." www.forbes.com/sites/annato...

I asked ChatGPT for some zingers about Mullin. They include:

β€œHe debates like a guy who thinks β€˜subtlety’ is a type of sandwich.” πŸ₯ͺ

β€œHe brings a lot of energy to the roomβ€”facts are still trying to catch up.” ⚑

β€œMarkwayne Mullin doesn’t just double downβ€”he refinances the whole argument.”

I'm not convinced the purpose of social media is to find funny. The problem with that pursuit is that a majority of men, while offline, know themselves not to be funny, and do not try as a result, yet when those same men log in they neglect to recall that they're not funny and then try to be funny.

RAJU: You'll concede this is war?

MARKWAYNE MULLIN: We haven't declared war. They declared war on us

RAJU: The president called it war and Secretary Hegseth called it war

REPORTER: When you walked up just now, you called it war

MULLIN: Okay. That was a misspoke.

Storage Is the New Status Symbol Why tuck away a $1 million car or six-figure Birkin bag when you can stage it like art?

"These bespoke, gallery-style spaces tell stories about their owners’ passions β€” and wallets β€” to anyone walking in through the front door. Many of these projects started early in the pandemic, when people were stuck at home with spare time and money to focus on home improvements and their passions"

Starting Your Own Business Is All the Rage Again The threats and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence are driving people to bet on themselves.

"On the other hand, whatever AI does for one founder it can also do for the rest. That likely means increased competition and higher expectations from investors demanding to see more than a concept or minimum viable product before opening their wallets." www.wsj.com/lifestyle/ca...

A Beloved Actor’s Face Is Now Unrecognizable. But It’s Us Who Should Be Looking in the Mirror. His extreme transformation spawned a spate of worldwide conspiracy theories.

"Moviegoers didn’t appreciate Carrey’s face for its symmetry, taut skin, or dramatic browline. We loved it because it was expressive and emotive, capable of making wacky shapes, eliciting laughs, and embodying characters that enriched our livesβ€”in other words, because it was human."

Companies Stare Down $100,000 Fee With New H-1B Visa Rules The Trump administration’s overhaul of the US visa system for highly skilled immigrants is about to get its first major test.

"There’s a possibility there could be some relief next year. The executive order that created the $100,000 fee is due to sunset in October, and so far there is no word on plans for a renewal, adding another layer of uncertainty." www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Yes, the people who railed against echo chambers did it disingenuously, as they felt they were being cut out. They claimed you were unable to hear other sides, when in reality they gave away the right to be heard by being so distasteful in how they spoke to and about others, all politics aside.

Teen boys are using ChatGPT as their wingman. What could go wrong? AI is teaching teenagers about love now.

"Girls and non-binary teens don’t need to lean on ChatGPT as much, Knapp said; they’re more likely to have a circle of friends ready and willing to workshop their texts. But guys are more isolated, socialized to believe it’s weak to talk about their feelings."

In 4th grade, I recall my teacher telling me not to use the word "Things" in my writing. There's always a better word to select, my teacher told me then. I never forgot that. I wonder when adults choose the word 'Things' what they intended to say because most likely they received similar feedback.

When I’m running late due to subway delays in the morning, I am fearful that the person I am meeting will judge me for arriving more than three minutes late, which is the dignified window.

When I’m at the coffee shop awaiting my counterpart, I am delighted to have some quiet time to myself.
