The federal government requires them to have emergency medical insurance for the entire length of their visa but that’s for things like hospitalization. So with AB healthcare no longer available she doesn’t have coverage for Dr’s visits or lab tests.

The problem is that the rules changed without warning!

This just got personal! A cousin from Australia just arrived on Thursday on a 2 year Type 58 visa. She found out on Friday she would no longer be eligible for AB Health care after 3 months. This stinks! She’ll be paying taxes, contributing to the economy and that’s how she’s treated! 🤬 F the UCP!
