It does. At first my friend and I thought it was a show, but then realized it was a game. But after finding out about the whole Invisigal thing, we just noped out. Very straight appealing. TBF, it's also not my kind of gameplay. I prefer more action-oriented games with a good story.

YES! That's exactly what I was thinking with Malevola! It's like the designers were trying to think of two popular female protagonists and were like: "Oh yes, this will do." And Robert just looks like battle-damaged Peter Parker.

I found a lot of the character designs to be lesser versions of already great existing characters. They just seemed very uninspired. Which is a shame because a lot of voice talent went into that game, and I love superheroes, but it just has zero appeal to me.

This has been me a lot lately. It's why I was totally disinterested in Dispatch. Oh male protagonist and the dollar tree Vi looking character is straight? Ok, not interested.

"Demeaning" trans people is exactly right. Their goal--and what they're most able to easily achieve--is our humiliation. The imposition of indignities. They also hope that, as humiliations often do, it exposes us to ridicule. Perhaps even violence. (e.g. forcibly outing people on their IDs).
