A screenshot of the “settings > accessibility” menu of bluesky mobile. A slider reading “Require alt text before posting” is flipped on. An additional bonus to using alt text is that you have extra space to add more context or information about your post with a very high character count.
For SWs new to the platform: A trick for boosting engagement is to add alt text to your images! Add key words to your descriptions because they are searchable!
There is a setting you can change to make it so you can’t post without adding alt text so you don’t forget, too!
