I've hated this porch material since it was installed 18yrsago - doesn't match the house, it's slippery as hell whenever it gets wet... and as we age, it's getting more treacherous.

Will it add value to the house? For us, yes. For resale, not sure. I can bully Schmoop into agreeing, but should I?

In other news. neighbor is coming by tomorrow to give us estimate on a) installing a handrail for the porch steps and maybe anti-slip treads, and b) replacing the steps, decking, and two railings for the steps, maybe with porch railings. A is necessary, B is ideal if I can afford it. #fingerscrossed

Was looking forward to having the house to myself as Schmoop has a sleep study tonight; turns out I'm running out of entertainment options and getting tired at 9pm. That never happens during the week. Might force myself to stay up just to prove I can. Weird.

I do like that when I search Walmart (I know, shut up, I have Reasons) for "cat fud" I get the results I need.

I discovered tonight that I was following DOL, against my will, as they were propagandizing "we only hire AMERICAN workers". F'in BS. UNFOLLOW AND BLOCK.

I do willingly follow NOAA, but that's about it. Oh, and the Consumer Protection Agency.

I gave in earlier this week when it was consistently 64 indoors.

Update on Road Trip w/ Mom: Fabulous Success!! She loved all the sights I picked, she tried some new foods and liked them, my kid was GREAT in his show, we both managed to climb to kid's 3rd floor apt, met up with my sisters for SunPM meal, and we're already planning a girls' trip w/ more family.

(I just counted, I have over 20lbs of mosaic tiles of various types/ shapes/ colors/ levels of shininess arriving this week. So I get it!)

I am giving her my best mosaic creation so far as a Bday gift, and I've already paid for the hotel and tickets, and she would never complain even if it was a shitty trip, but I want to make her happy.

my Mom gets to judge me, by right of giving birth to me. It's dumb, b/c she's the LEAST judgmental person I know, but old training dies hard. I did plan a pretty good trip, and even if I failed, she'd never complain, but that just makes the (self-created) pressure harder.

Taking tomorrow off to road trip to Madison with Mom to see my kid in Sweeney Todd. Slightly nervous for the trip, b/c while Mom and I get along really well, we've never travelled together; I'm used to being the Mom in charge when I go with the other kids. They don't get to judge me, but...

Hahaha! I was just bouncing in here to ask if you found a way to watch the game. They played better than I expected, compared to preseason. Swayman had an excellent game; makes me hope he'll have a better year than last.

And yeah, he was speaking out against Trump in the first go-round. So was Sebastian Bach, and at least one other big hair metal name who I forget. Nice surprises!

Credit scores are so fucked up. My bank says I have a FICO of 819. My main CC says I have a FICO of 767. My mortgage co says I have a FICO of 750. And that doesn't count non-FICO credit scores.

Before last year's refi, main CC had my FICO at 50 points higher than bank's FICO. Nothing makes sense.
