It's 2:53am, I'm in complete darkness except for my monitors, and so far into Resi Evil 9 - I feel like a kid again playing RE1/RE2 where I'm scared but excited. My heart is full. What a wonderful game so far.

I'm not saying that this happens to everyone, obviously, I'm extremely fortunate, but it isn't the point.

If you're giving motivation to the art that you want to keep seeing - games, books, etc. that's good. So many disappear & you wonder why, it's because there's no feedback or people telling them

For those DMs 'um actually telling people you like their work doesn't matter' - Yes. It. Does. 👏🏻

I have a book dedicated to me from the series I wouldn't shut up about, I'm friends with said author, got to hang out with & interview Akira Yamaoka (one of my all time favourite composers) & way more.

Because as this post says, they definitely do not hear it like you assume they do.

Especially if they're authors or artists that don't get a lot of screen time, as it were. Tell them.

For me it led to becoming close friends with amazing people + the artists and whatnot I liked, and more by proxy.

This quite literally caused a chain of events that changed the trajectory of my life in a good way about 14-15? years ago - I'm not exaggerating for effect.

Please please post about and be loud about what you love - tell that artist, author, game dev, whatever that you like what they do. 💖
