How does this even work in a humanities course? In gen ed & broadening subjects?
02.12.2025 01:35 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The perfidious Northmen have ruined our lands for too long!
02.12.2025 00:21 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0He hasn't got the stamina
29.11.2025 04:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0He doesn't care about precedent. Assuming his brain is switched-on enough to see long term consequences, he knows he won't face them personally.
28.11.2025 22:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just to be safe, unwrap it and let it sit on the kitchen bench for at least 3 days
27.11.2025 01:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sweet pies are great, but savoury pies are sublime
25.11.2025 21:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0More to the point, Israel is a sovereign state. We can support them, or not, but we can't decide *for them.* Not even the mayor of a city with lots of Jewish people can do that.
25.11.2025 02:10 β π 14 π 0 π¬ 2 π 09/11 was different because US was attacked. There is little public appetite (in normal countries) for wars of conquest
The really awful thing is Trump could get his Triumph by helping push the Russians back across the Don -- or reining in the Israelis
Yes but one question is how much EU states can trust the Americans. Because (gestures at everything).
The other question is, if EU may expand, but NATO isn't allowed, does EU want those new member states as formal defensive allies or not?
Its not "leave nato" but rather to have a backstop
In short term, maybe; there is no choice. But the point of the EU was to help stop European wars. Trade integration is a huge part of that. So is a credible collective defence.
DeGaulle knew, and post 2014 Ukraine has proven, that a US security guarantee is mostly worthless.
Replacing NATO with an EU defence force seems reasonable. US is no longer a reliable partner. The other 5 Eyes countries, including UK, will need to choose a side -- EU, or something new.
A US that elected Trump twice will likely not risk lives for Darwin or Shetland.
This is correct
20.11.2025 07:31 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The antisemitism is, like, right there in primary sources and witness statements. Even the blue-collar nazis in "They Thought they were Free" didn't really believe the whole master race thing (or didn't understand it?) but they still hated Jews.
20.11.2025 06:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Exactly! A local problem with a specific solution :)
And probably a different solution compared to the tradespeople shortage where I live (which isn't US anymore)
Local issues need local solutions. Some places it'll be zoning, some places opening new land, some places might need government-funded social housing, or incentives for carpenters to move there, or even rent control. Blanket nation policies that don't address local problems don't solve them.
19.11.2025 21:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Then ask him what we should call his ma. And whether the Spirit comes from him or not.
15.11.2025 09:59 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 02012 seems like a weird starting point
11.11.2025 23:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So glad my kid's school is teaching letters and sounding out. They even say explicitly "don't guess from the pictures" because they know a lot of parents were taught the wrong way.
11.11.2025 21:52 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think its largely age. The Clinton era fried a lot of brains.
10.11.2025 21:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Get rid of the DINOs. Vote in people who will actually fight for the little guy.
10.11.2025 21:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Theres that scene where the kids watch all the Native Americans go past, and it's like, Pa's pioneer farm dream is at the expense of uncountably many people
10.11.2025 01:53 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Also Vietnam (and, basically, everywhere) is way more prosperous than it was in the past
10.11.2025 01:00 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Heck, there's decent centre-right plans better than ACA. Its only squaring the circle to Rs because they each pledged to never raise tax.
09.11.2025 02:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There's a bit of a dog pile on the morality -- but the "since when" is 1945. First, rebuild Europe and Japan (to stop another depression). Then funnel aid to Global South to stop them going Red, Islamist, etc.
07.11.2025 21:04 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0At a local level, here in AU at least, they cloak themselves in leftish and especially Greenish language. Eg "Save the platypus" slogans in protest of a pumped storage plant that would make baseload wind power feasible.
I can't tell if its Big Coal funded, or just nimby yokels.
Yeah and it seems like a weird context. Like, Andrew Jackson did an ethnic cleansing. But you wouldn't tell everyone how a mugging victim is actually trash because they had a $20 in their pocket.
06.11.2025 01:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Americans just recently re-erected statues of slavers, and is disappearing brown people, because eggs were expensive during the election.
Maybe spend 5 minutes thinking how not everyone in a country likes every action of everyone that has a statue. And how kids don't deserve being shot by missiles.
The very reasonable people also think RF = USSR = Workers' Paradise because actually looking at people's material conditions is hard.
06.11.2025 00:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Also VA isn't NYC, why would anyone think local leaders need to be the same everywhere?
05.11.2025 03:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Natural waist isn't super defined, belts would slide about too much. Good to see then dressing for their body type.
