"It enables player choice" as a reason for skill trees. Sure. Sometimes.

But its often not a meaningful choice. Most games allow you to buy the full tree as you play. So you're not choosing if, just when.

If your goal is an easy to learn game with a real shot at commercial success? Yes, id say you're alone. The advantages of a primary mechanic repeating throughout the game are enormous.

However, not every game needs to be easy to learn and isnt seeking commercial success.

Maybe down the road in 5-6 years 1-3 of the kids join the New Republic and we get a story about that. Wim training to be an XWing pilot or KB becoming an engineer studying ancient technology.

Anyway, absolutely loved the show. Let Jon Watts keep doing whatever he wants in Star Wars.

For instance, more Kh'ymm in everything. A standalone Jod mini that puts him on a path to join Luke's academy, or challenge it would be fun. And if they do some sort of New Republic-focused show, having an episode visit At Atin and those characters again would be great.

So, I loved #SkeletonCrew. Best #StarWars from Disney thus far IMO. That said, I'm not looking for a season 2, but I DO want more stories like that, that stand alone and have that same fun adventure tone. And I do want to see some of these characters show up again.

Looks great, they kept the same vibes from the netflix show, looks like season 4 to me. The one line that suggests a pause in activity would seem at odds with Matt's she hulk appearance, but I assume the show will answer that.

Skeleton crew was truly great. Easily my favorite bit of #starwars in the Disney era thus far. Fun characters that are easy to root for, a great adventure, and loads of heart.

More standalone projects like this, please. Let Watts do whatever he likes.

I think the problem is everyone assumed one of the other institutions would hold Trump to account, because the alternative, that our institutions might not hold, was unthinkable. Garland thought the American people wouldn't elect him, so he wouldn't have to make the hard choice.

There's just so much fun design space for a character like Charles Xavier that could take the game in strange new directions.

All that fighting over the sentencing, and there's no punishment whatsoever other than having the felon tag on his record. I didn't expect jail time for this, but I did expect the maximum fine. Embarrassing outcome.

Not all words are created equal, either. Some stuff might write faster or slower for a given freelancer based on the setting and rules knowledge they walk onto the job with.

I was just having this conversation in the context of writing fiction the other day, but it applies equally to TTRPG writing. I can sit down for two hours and generate more ideas I am excited to produce than I could reasonably produce for the rest of my life. It's about finishing. Final drafts.

100%. There are zero guarantees in this business, even if it looks like a "sure thing".

Yeah. I mean the upside is the licensed IP presumably has a built-in audience you have a means to market and sell your game to. If all of that isn't true, well, congrats on being wealthy enough to run that passion project at a loss.

If you're a forever GM that wants to see #TTRPG flourish in your area, talk with your local library about running a regular game for kids. Helping kids discover RPGs is a great GMing experience, and it's great for the hobby as a whole to bring in new generations of players!

If I eventually have to watch another Batman movie, let it be Batman teamed up with Plastic Man. And if they have to recap Batman's origin, let Plastic Man perform it.

This would be incredible casting. Not that anyone is really beating the door down for a plastic man project from James Gunn, but if you're gonna do it, this is the guy

First episode of #starwars skeleton crew was pretty much perfect. That holiday special Easter egg, tho!

Regardless of which way you go, though, sounds like a fun project, and wishing you the best with it!

I think if I were in your shoes, the question I'd ask is "is the audience for this game primarily people who have already played D&D? or people who are having their very first TTRPG experience?"

If D&D? HP is familiar
If not? I think injuries make more story-moment sense
