Loved seeing another Oonee Pod in the wild! We need more secure bike parking all around our cities. In addition to better bike lanes, minimizing bike theft is another key to getting more people out cycling. Note @thewaroncars.bsky.social Advertisement!

Some have argued that traffic cameras are a regressive tax on low-income people. While I agree that fines could be somewhat commensurate with income, maybe people of any income could just stop driving 15 mph above the speed limit?

TTC: turnstyle jumpers beware. Provincial Offence Officers on the scene. P.O.O. On every bus n train. You’ve been warned?

Us: we don’t want POO on public transit.

TTC: IT’S NOT FUNNY. This is your second warning!

Us: So it’s warning… number 2?

TTC: Yes. and there will not be a turd

Reminder: more than 60% of four year institutions let in at least 75% of applicants. A school with an admissions rate of 65% is one of the more selective schools in the country. College admissions shit is entirely elite neuroses about like 100 schools, or total bullshit.

look I can’t predict how this is going to go, but even as rhetoric it’s leagues above anything that leaders in the states have even sniffed at. They’ve been content to keep trying Rube Goldberg-esque tax credits in hopes of barely nudging the margins.

Great video! Here are some up close shots of that Budd RDC diesel self-propelled car. CVSR used to run it all the way to Canton.

A "direct inverse correlation" between fluoride exposure and low IQ" means the more fluoride you get, the higher your IQ. What he's looking for is a "direct correlation," but he doesn't know what any of these words mean or how science works.

It is fascinating to me how every conversation about cycling invites dozens of comments like this. It’s true that some cyclists are rude! It’s also true that this is not relevant to whether traffic laws should be changed

It's funny how there's an inverse correlation with nominally supporting the idea of "degrowth" and the outcomes of the associated policies.

To be clear, DOGE = degrowth, decel, and stagnation. Big fiscal policies like the Green New Deal = growth, acceleration, and abundance.

There's been a lot of mockery of the notion that people are being canceled for their belief ("which conservative belief were you canceled for, tax cuts?"). But in these cases, this isn't even what happened - the people in question chose to cancel themselves (among liberals) for whatever reason. /end

Why was the Chicago O’Hare multi modal transit center / rental car facility built backwards? It is a LONG walk from the terminal transit station (red) to the Metra station (blue). Terminal transit and bus bays should have been on the east side to enable shorter walks to Metra. Stupid design.
