Now that South Bend Transpo has consolidated most of their downtown routes on to Main Street, I think it would be worthwhile to implement a Super Stops/Loop Link type project to speed up bus service on that corridor.

My guess is that if the city needs to acquire easements they will be in touch shortly (if they haven’t been already). Otherwise I imagine the former right of way of Erie will remain city-owned and maintained as part of the bridge and I would not expect property lines to move.

Road Closure Map
The project also closes Erie Avenue permanently between Keystone and 47th, which has functioned as a dangerous high speed slip lane for rat-running drivers. h/t @andersonyork.bsky.social for the photos and information!

Bridge Plan
Plans were shared last night for the new Nickel Plate Trail Bridge over Keystone Avenue in Indianapolis! The bridge will be a huge safety improvement for all trail users, and construction is slated to begin in 2027, although work on the North trailhead is already underway.

View of a Wetland at Grassy Creek Regional Park
One of Indy’s largest parks is about to get even larger. On March 12, Indy Parks plans to officially add roughly 88.5 acres to Grassy Creek Regional Park, protecting vital wetland habitat from future encroachment by suburban sprawl.

We gotta do something about transit legibility in this state man. This system map is completely unapproachable for new riders.

You can see remnants of other loops if you know where to look. Many became driveways, parking lots, or were planted over to be returned to the parks they were in, like the former loops at Ellenberger and Riverside Park.
