Massive strike on Tehran’s Vanak Sq this morning, in a densely populated residential area. All my family live in this neighbourhood, no contact with them since last night. Every Iranian is facing this cruel reality; an internet shutdown w/ comms almost impossible amidst terror of heavy bombing.

Iranians taking to the streets last night to celebrate confirmation Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed by yesterday’s airstrikes. Joy & relief after decades of abuse; but many also don’t want their country bombed by Israel & US despite being happy Khamenei’s gone. Both can be concurrently true.

BREAKING: At least 200 people have been killed and 747 injured so far in US-Israeli strikes across 24 provinces of Iran today, latest figures from the Iranian Red Crescent.

At least 50 children have been killed & <60 injured in an Israeli air strike on a girls’ school in Minab in #Iran’s southern Hormozgan province, per state media. Unlike overnight attacks last year, Israel’s strikes this morning apparently timed to inflict maximum damage, casualties & disruption.
